| A top sports presenter,
Harry Plater, The Commentator,
appeals for help and asks you to take on the task of
getting the player back to full health and fitness.
But you must be careful - and watch out for the Wizard!
On accepting the challenge you are transported
to a secret, hi-tech training
centre, where the player is languishing.
You start in the Bedroom Zone,
where your favourite player is sleeping. The task
here is to motivate the player to get out of bed.
This is going to be difficult but don't worry. Help
is at hand in the form of PeeJay, a talking, wisecracking,
PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), who will offer advice
and guidance to you throughout. For a computer, PeeJay
knows a lot about the importance of emotional well-being
and its influence on health.
Having successfully roused the player, it's time to
move on to the Cafeteria Zone.
Here, you can learn more about nutrition and the importance
of a balanced diet. The challenge is to select from
menus, healthy meals which will help bring your hero
back to form.
The next challenge is the Gym
Zone, which explains the importance of physical
fitness. Then tackle the 'Healthy Heart or Lazy Bum?'
quiz which tests your knowledge and highlights the
need to exercise.
It's Your Goal includes a special laboratory where
you can find more information on a range of health
topics.
The Research
Zone can be entered at any time and contains
games, printable activity sheets and links to useful,
health-related websites.
You may also visit the Video
Zone, to watch a number of digital movies about
sport and exercise. You can even learn how to make
your own loaf of bread!
As you progress through each zone, you
learn how to gradually bring your hero back to health
and fitness. Unfortunately, this outrages the Wizard
who infiltrates the training centre and challenges
you to a final battle, in the
End Zone. This takes the form of a precarious
quiz, designed to test knowledge gained from the previous
zones.
Success in the End Zone results
in a more chicanery from the Wizard but with the help
of PeeJay and the now fully fit player, you can beat
him. If you do, your valiant effort will earn you
an Honorary Football Coach certificate and, a big
thanks from Harry Plater, The Commentator.
